Shirecliffe is Blooming Marvellous!

This week is our annual Community Week. The theme this year is looking after our school and local community. Across the week the children have been finding ways to do just that! Children walked around the local area or visiting places such as Busk Park to litter pick, The Meadows to talk to our elderly local people and to LEAF to offer their help tidying up an area of wasteland. Children in Phase 1 walked upto Little Pear Tree Field to look for signs of spring. Each class will also vote for a May Queen and Jack in the Green as part of the May Day tradition, these will be shared in assembly together tomorrow. As well as this we have been promoting ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ where children do small gestures for others such as opening a door offering a compliment. It has been a great week, keep an eye out for photos around school.
