Due to the success of last year’s Bake-Off, we are again holding this competition, this year on the day of our Christmas Fayre – Tuesday 5th December.
Children can bring in a cake (or buns) with the theme of “Christmas”. These will be judged by a panel of judges, headed by our very own Mary Berry – Mrs Senior. There will be prizes for the best cake/buns decorated with the theme of Christmas for each year group. In addition this year we also have a Star Baker trophy for the overall best creation.
After the judging has been completed we would like to sell the baking at the Christmas Fayre in the afternoon, and this will help to raise money for our School Fund.
Please bring your child’s baking creations to the Studio on the morning of the Christmas Fayre – Tuesday 5th December.
Over the last week we have been focussing on ways to stop bullying and to support people to stand up to bullies. The theme this year is ‘All Different, All Equal, The idea is to help children and young people celebrate what makes them, and others, unique and help them understand why it’s important that every child feels included in school and is able to be themselves without fear of bullying.
This has been done across school using Circle Times, P4C sessions, using video examples to lead discussions and through looking at case studies. There have been some very positive outcomes in classrooms and children definitely are more aware of the power they have and how to support others in difficult situations. Call in and talk to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Welcome back to school after the October half term. There were some beautiful Autumn days with lots of sunshine. We hope you had a lovely break together with your family and that you are now rested ready for the mad rush up to Christmas. As the weather turns cooler please remind your child about wearing their coats, although they run around so much outside they do not feel the cold like us adults! Please write names in coats, we already have 3 new looking ones in lost property without names on. We will be making more indoor space available for children who prefer to be inside in the cold.
Don’t forget if you have anything on your mind that you want to discuss, call in to the office and make an appointment to see us. We would rather talk things through with you and work together to find a solution, than let issues grow or see them on Facebook. There will as usual be lots of things happening this half term and we will use the Green ‘Un to keep you up to date.
